Recap

Forgot to mention that Gma D-ster and I took Jax and Hillers out to TGIFriday's last week.  Brave, indeed.
The girls did awesome.  Hilly was happy as a clam looking around.  And Jax was occupied with her chocolate milk and a table full of senior citizens on a bus trip nearby.  She wanted so badly to hang out with them.  She knows where the fun's at....
Below I captured snippets from Jax's playdate on Sunday with Will.  She was sooo happy.
He would yell "JACK!" and she'd yell "WILL!" and they'd race through the house, each with a stroller.

6 Months

 Drumroll please................

Hilly's 6 month stats:
 Weight: 16.6 1/2 pounds- 60th percentile
Height: 27 inches- 90th percentile
Head: 43 cm - 75th percentile
She received 5 vaccines, including her flu shot.
Still has a little cold, including congestion behind ears but no ear infection.
I woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat and pain in my ears.  I was tempted to ask the pediatrician to look in my ears to see if they were infected, but I resisted the urge.
Alright, I have to go break up this love affair.  These 2 are nothing but trouble...

Wild and Crazy Saturday Night

"Wild and crazy" for us is any time we actually leave our house.  And last night... well, you guessed it.  Extra wild, extra crazy.  Dinner at Grammy & Pops'.  We even stayed until after 7:30.

While Hilly hung with Grammy after a delicious meal over which we discussed the Catholic church and the whole priest/molestation issue (a trusty old go-to of ours), Jax and Pops squeezed in a little light reading.

Today Jack's BFF William will be gracing us with his presence.  He's on his way!

From Wednesday...

Wednesday was a big day of taking pics for me, evidently. As I fed Hilly, Jack read quietly (for like 45 minutes- this kid loves books). I said, "Jack, smile!" and this was her response.  As the daughter of an amateur photographer, I can relate to how annoyed she must have been after a full day of smiling for the camera.
Speaking of annoyed, Hannie is always licking food and snot off Hilly's face.  Poor Hillers.
Meanwhile, Jax was brunching with Baby Alive.  How cute is this?

Crusty Eyes

Whose eyes are crusty, you ask? Why, everyone's!  In the morning, Jim and I get to wake up and unseal our daughters' eyes by wiping away the hardened mucus.  Before dawn, Hillary and I are coughing up a storm.  I can handle my own coughs, but I can't handle listening to the poor baby coughs.
 She is a keeper....

Above we have Jim's big mistake:  While I was in a store, he let Jackie sit in the driver's seat and took this picture.  Little did he know that she would scream to sit in the driver's seat (a) all the way home from the store and (b) every time she got into his car for the rest of her life.  Haha- lesson learned!
And above we have a sick Hilly.  Right now she's sleeping next to me.

I can't wait for spring.

Easter 2011- Post 1

These are of my dad's family's Easter.  I went on my mom's facebook account and stole them from my cousin's boyfriend. This was Jackie's 2nd Easter and Hilly's 1st (in utero).
Jax hated to walk on the grass.

 She was examining baby Aaron.

Grammy & Pops'

Sunday evening we went to Grammy & Pops for dinner where Jax and Hillers met Uncle Francis.  Jax & Pops were inseparable, as usual.  And below we have Grammy making Hilly laugh.
Jax also received a belated Xmas/Bday gift from Aunt Katie, Uncle Aaron & cousins, which is awesome.  Hilly has one too and Jax loves it.  The little focused look on her face gets me every time.
Earlier that day, Will & his mom came over for a playdate.  Will had such a great time, he gave his mom a run for her money when it was time to go.  Their teacher told me today that there is no question that he wants to be her Valentine!  How funny.

Movin' On Up

Umm.. hello- Can we say big changes?  A certain somebody has reluctantly passed down her high chair.  After a series of "standing on high chair" incidents and a Hilly starting solids, I realized it was time for a pink booster seat.  The brown one was $50 more.  Sorry, future son that we may not have.
Below is Jack demonstrating satisfaction while eating yogurt.
In contrast, dissatisfaction while eating peas:

When I call Jackie "Pooh-bear" she goes, "No Pooh-bear.  Jack."  This deters me not.  She will always be my pooh-bear.
