Toenails

I painted my toenails while getting ready for a wedding.  Jax requested that hers be painted also.  She was sooo careful about not touching them while they were wet and even now if I try to touch them she says, 'Don't touch them!'

Below is just a cute pic of the H-ster playing this morning and Jax enjoying some QT with Dada.

11 Months

SOMEBODY is 11 months old today.

I celebrated by grocery shopping at Target.  I think she celebrated by pooping a million times.  I'm not kidding, this child poops more than any other child in the entire world.  I blame the teeth.

She's developed a really loud laugh that sounds fake.  When we are laughing together, I sometimes wonder if she is making fun of me.  I think she is secretly cooler than me and she knows it.

Anyway, Hillers, happy 11 wonderful months!

Lazy Day

Jax was a grump after going to bed late Wed night (stayed awake on drive home from Atown).  I had put Hilly to bed in Jack's t-shirt.  When Jax saw Hilly in her t-shirt, she screamed.  SO mad.  So we all took long morning naps.  Then lunch.  Then baths.  Then tidying up.  Then dinner.  And I realized we did nothing today- didn't even go outside.  So I busted out paints for Jackie to make myself feel like a better mom.
In daycare, they said Jackie wasn't into arts & crafts.  She wasn't into 'em today for long either.  I had fun, though.    :)

Below is Jax post-bath, pre-dressed.  Barbie napped, bathed and then watched an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba with Jax.  They both were cozy under the blankies.
In the car last night she said to me, 'Mama, I'm almost 3!'  I said, 'How old are you now?' and she said, '2!'  and I asked 'How old is Hilly?'  and she said, 'Almost 1.'  Brilliance.

Throwback to the 1970s

My dad gave me 2 pictures when Jax and I were visiting yesterday.  Above please find Gpa Lee & Gma D-ster.  This question is directed towards my mom or Aunt D- who is the lady in that blue bikini in the foreground and where can I get a bikini top like that?  Love it.

Below is a group on LBI.  God, I love that place.  Anyway, I don't know who the 2 boys are.  My dad thought it was Billy on the left.  And I don't know who is by Aunt D either.  Uncle C?  Anyway, enjoy.

Fish Hatch

Since Dada was in Alabama, we decided to spend the day in A-town visiting Gma, Pop-pop, Gpa, Nana and Tali & Evan.  And we went to the Fish Hatchery to feed trout.

I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves- I'm exhausted.  The girls miss their Dada!!!!!

Baby Calf and Swimming

Unless Hilly is really sleepy, you have to feed her like a baby calf.  How cute is this?
She still doesn't self-feed (hold her own bottle or put food in her own mouth).  It's because yours truly does it all the time (which I am perfectly fine with).
This time, it was Dada feeding her.

Below we have Jax's lesson yesterday.  Grammy & Pops came and I could see how special Jax felt when she looked up and saw everyone cheering for her.  She IS special!
Ms. Alicia said she needs to work on breathing out.  Jack was feeling a little stubborn, so they had to stop mid-lap until Jackie decided she would blow out her nose.
In the car yesterday she said to me, 'My no want call you mommy.'  I said, 'What do you want to call me?'  And she said, 'Mom.'  Of course, she forgot about this new self-imposed rule 5 minutes later, but it broke Jim's heart.  She also said to me the other day, 'Grammy and Pops sing-ed.'  She is trying out verb tenses.  Did I write this already?  Probably.  If I repeat stories, feel free to let me know or just ignore it.

Naps, etc..

First of all, look at the difference in their skin color.  I can't believe they are sisters, let alone related (in so far as skin goes).  I think Hillers is sneaking out of her crib at night and applying my spray tan.

Below is lazy bones, waiting for Hillers to wake up from a nap this weekend.  Hilly wasn't feeling so hot so she has been napping like a champ.
We walked 2 blocks on Saturday.  It took us 1.5 hours.  Jackie stopped to show her baby doll all the sights.  Below, there is a budget playground at the church nearby.  That baby pool had water in it.  Gross.

Above we have Jax rocking her new sunglasses, and below we have photographic evidence of our trip to PetSmart.  We saw turtles, birds, fish, cats and dogs getting their hair cut.  We were in that store for like an hour, and then Hilly pooped her pants, so I changed her diaper in the car and we went back to PetSmart.

Below we have the girls playing in their rice box.  Jax is wearing awesome vintage PJs that once belonged to cousin Jessica.  The scene below appears more peaceful than it actually was.  It is hard to keep the peace in a rice box!

Photo Dump Round 2

Cleanin' out the old phone.  These are more pics from last week.  En route to park.  Took over an hour to walk there.  A lot of doddling going on.
Before the swimming trip that never happened.  The girls waiting patiently.

Jax had her eye on the neighbor boy's firetruck forEVER.  Finally she saw that it fell off their deck and excitedly went to retrieve it.  Best day of her life.
Obvi best day of Hilly's life too.

 "Before the firetruck."
Tantrum 5 long blocks from home.  I had to carry Jax, her stroller and doll while pushing Hilly's stroller.  Awesome.  Jax wanted to play basketball with the 11 year old boys in the senator's driveway, that's all.  She thinks every boy is Parker and wants to play.  She told me she wants to get herself a basketball for Hilly's birthday.  I like the way this girl thinks.
 Playing with ants.
 And another park pic.

Photo Dump Round 1

Hilly totally has some sort of weird infant bug that the ped said is going around so she was feeling crappy all day, and I went to the doctor for a sinus headache that felt awesome.  On the way home, I stopped and got myself an iced coffee and Jax some ice cream for being a sport.  She just sat the in the waiting room, looking around with a smile on her face like an angel.

These are some pics from the park last week that I took.

Below are Jax and the neighbor boy looking at his iPad.
Jax said to me, "Mommy.  Hat."  A creative genius, what can I say?

Pics en route to park.  Jax in her shades.
