Friends and Meltdowns

Yesterday we got to babysit P and Hannah, which the the girls were obviously thrilled about. Jack and P had a debate on whether the car out from was P's- Jax said "it looks like your car, but it isn't."

Jack isn't allowed to drink as much milk as Hilly bc she gets constipated. I just caught her chugging from H's sippy cup of milk. Jack immediately said "I am keeping Hilly's cup safe."Is that what they're calling it these days????

Also, Nina's mom got Hilly this animal book- all the animal sounds are on it, etc... If you've been to our house lately, u know the book. H loves loves it. So I put it in her crib at night (she is an avid reader). Oddly in the AM, the book is in jackie's bed.... Every morning I ask her if and why she stole H's beloved book. She responds "She gave it to me.... Isn't that sweet?" Yeah right!!!

Right now H is reading that book on the playroom floor wearing a safari hat. Haha She often dons her safari hat, monkey book bag and Dora glasses. Hot stuff.

We are waiting for Gma to come. Jack is excited. I asked her what her favorite thing is about Gma. She said "Her hair. No...her earrings. I want pretty earrings too."

At ballet this morning, for the first 45 minutes of Jackie's class, Hilly didn't run!!! The only person who can truly appreciate this is probably my friend Tiffany, who has been chasing Hilly w me multiple times a week for many seasons now- but believe me- it was heavenly. I felt so proud.

Happy 1 Month, Ben!

I almost forgot! Today is his 1 month birthday!

His wellness visit is Thurs so that's when I will get his stats.

Suffice it to say, I have no clue where this month went.

A Return to the Zoo

Saturday morning was our old standby (that never gets old, frankly)- a trip to the little zoo. This time w Grammy and Pops. The girls even ventured into the stinky Pygmy goat area (which I secretly love) and pet some mini goats.

Truth be told, I don't remember anything else that happened Saturday or Sunday until we hit up G & P's for dinner. I guess an interrupted sleep schedule at night messes w your memory, although I am sure our days went something like: feed everyone, change everyone, feed Ben, bathe children, feed Ben, change Ben, feed everyone, naps, etc...

Hilly's new thing is saying "Here you go, X.". It sounds like "Eeeee go, Jackie/Be/Lala/etc..."

Jackie says to Ben "you're my favorite little buddy!"

I still have to shoo the ladies away like flies. "I want to kiss him!!!" and then he's gasping for breath. Whew.

Friend Visit

Mer and Nini and their kids came over one last time before Nini moves to CA. I told Jackie I was sad and Jackie said "I will love Nini in California!" I will love Nini in CA too.

Tonight I got mad at Hilly and Jackie both for playing in the toilet water. So I cleaned up after them, told them they were wrong (which they knew- Jax confessed immediately) and then I ditched them to go clean the master bathroom. When I was done cleaning the bathroom, I peaked into their room and Hilly was pointing to pages in a Sesame book asking "What's that?" and Jackie would tell her. Then they started wrestling and tickling each other. Already they have started bonding via their joint parental disdain! I speak from experience when I say that nobody so fully understands your parents as your siblings do.

Ben is still little and hasn't turned on me yet. :)

Hilly slept through the entire visit (pretty much) today and when she came down she kept saying "woah!" and started playing w the babies and jumping on the trampoline. She loves to have a good time.

Jackie was super chatty with Nini. She loves Nini so much. She feels comfortable chatting away with only a select group of adults and it makes me happy when she chats away w my friends/. It makes me feel like I've chosen wisely.

Zoo Take 2

After Ben and Jax's obligatory morning cuddle time, we got ready to meet our friends at the little zoo nearby.

Hilly was in heaven looking at animals and held hands w Jackie and P the entire time. At one point this parrot let out a huge noise and every kid around it started to cry- except Hilly, who squealed with delight. I even jumped 1000 feet. I had to drag her out of the zoo- literally.

She is a serious bookworm. Has a book w her at all times. Will shamelessly ask strangers to read to her. Etc...

Ben was the most handsome guy at the zoo, if I do say so myself. :)

Play dates

So I decided to rejoin society w 3 children and took the kids to. a play date Monday and a state park today w P and crew. Yesterday was dance and gym and a visit from our old neighbor (just the mom who Jax loves) and Gma D-ster (who spent the day with us which was obviously awesome). Jack woke up at 4 am bc she was so psyched for Gma's visit.

Our neighbor's car was broken into and Jax is distraught. Her name is Katrina and Jack calls her "trick-or-trina" which is adorbs. But she is terrified of this stranger (a man, she decided) who takes ppl's stuff. She is worried about our neighbors.
