Easter and Spring Break

Below are pictures from the week before we moved.   We babysat B's kids for a bit one morning.

And introduced them to our hill run after we had lunch.

Emily turtle-sat so we obviously had to put Corncob in the same cage as a turtle.  They didn't really care much about each other.
Gardening.
Fast friends.

Impromptu neighborhood hangout.

Dying Eastser eggs.
Em and Miss Amy had an egg hunt just for the kids.  So fun.

Some friends came to enjoy one last cookout before moving.

The Easter bunny came!

Post-morning egg hunt.
Easter at Aunt Donna's

The next day was rough.  Not gonna lie.  Everyone was exhausted and my morning sickness was at an all time high.
Tuesday was much better.  We hit up the Plumpton Park zoo, a spring break tradition, with some friends. Below was my fave little monkey guy.

Week before Easter

We took Jack's bestie from school to Jack's uke lesson after gymnastics and this was the pic they took together in the back of the minivan.  So cute.
Mon night Jack woke up w an ear infection.  At school Tues she went to nurse, so I picked her up amidst a super busy morning and squeezed in a doc appt. She did have an ear infection.
Then we met up w Jim and Ben and H at Ben's hardcore swim lesson.  He was going under and he knew it.
Hilly went first and she evaluated her and Hill is ready for group.  She had a blast.  Ben, though, was another story.  He was stressed and scared.  She was comforting but wasn't taking no for an answer.  There were BABIES swimming for God's sake.  We both had a wake up call.  AND HE DID IT!  Afterwards he said to me, "Mommy, were proud of me that I went under a lot of times?" I said YES.  Then I told him we have a week off and his lessons will then continue. He told me "No, I'm okay now.  I went under.  I can go back to my old swimming lessons (where they make him do nothing)."  Oh no, buddy.
Chalk that afternoon.
We didn't have Jack's dance or H's tumbling so it was a pretty long afternoon.  People think I'm crazy keeping kids so busy with stuff, but I think it's harder to be at home and feel like I should be cleaning and stuff.  I'd rather watch them learn new things.  Anyway, they had fun with chalk.  Then we decided to walk to the library nearby.
Hilly complained, saying it was too long.  I told her that people who exercise are actually happier.  She told me exercise doesn't make her happy.  Hahaha.
When we got there, they were lost in books and play.
Jack is my most distracted child.  She did read, but was watching these boys playing computer games.  That's what she wanted to do. When she realized that wasn't happening, she tried to get Benny to rough house with her.

Benny was too busy at the train table.
Outside we waited for Jim to pick us up and got some playground time in.

Jack's friend Abby goes to a different school and drew this on one of her school assignments: Corncob is a DE sensation.
Wednesday Jack's entire class met at the playground down the street after school.  Here and Jack and Sarah and their games.
Hilly brought Emily too and we went to her classmates Guiliana's house.  Guiliana's parents own a well known pizza place in the area so there was a ton of food.  Plus, she's straight from Italy.  The food didn't stop coming.

And her mother had an egg hunt for the kids.  This is a tough woman with a huge heart.  I was really intimidated by her at first, but she's really just a nice funny lady.
We picked up Em and Em got to meet everyone.

Guiliana's brother gave Ben his old ninja turtle sweatshirt.  Ben cherishes this sweatshirt for 1000000 reasons.
That night we went to Grammy and Pops' to celebrate Jim's 38th birthday.

Benny was asleep on the sofa in the other room.

The cake

Ice cream cake was a huge hit.

Hilly has a canker sore that's driving her crazy.  How cute does her little face look in this pic, despite the gross tongue shot.
The next day we did a million things. Holy Thursday.  Em took these pics of the girls while I ran some Easter-related errands.

That afternoon we met Betsy and the crew at the HAC to swim.

And we had soccer practice that night.
