Book update: Jack picked from library today a book called When Will it be Spring? (A little bear on the cover)
Ben's current favorites are a large SpongeBob book and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates look and find
Hilly loves paging through books- my biggest book lover of all so far (although they all do read). She loves any anthology- Aunt Jeanette has given them a large Disney anthology and a large Disney Princess anthology. Santa brought her a little encyclopedia on bugs, which she really likes.
Saturday Jack had 2 ice skating birthday parties. The first one was rough- none of her besties were there and she def felt overwhelmed. First was cake and pizza and then there was a quick lesson. She is teacher them how to fall, regain balance and how to get up after a fall. Jack used these skills at both parties.
Ultimately this party was a disaster. The instructor just sort of set the kids loose on the ice. There was a lot of clinging to the wall and falling etc... Very painful to watch.
Jack got freaked when she fell hard and couldn't get up. So we left. She was hungry (she was too shy to eat there) and tired and angry and never wanted to ice skate again.
So the 2 of us went to Grotto's where I had a beer and she had pizza. It had been a rough day.
After refueling we hit up part number 2 which was decidedly more zen. All the parents skates also and Jack didn't even want to get off the ice to eat cake (although she did) and was the first one back on.
It was pretty fun.
Below - Jack wrote out a knock knock joke "knock knock. Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Banana I love you."
Sunday we hit up Grandpa's birthday celebration. Gabey said to Ben "let's go down" or "let's go up" and they really played together a lot. They played darts, trains, etc. wish I had a pic of those 2.
Below is a pic sent to my by the birthday girl's mom:
Benny playing on a riding toy:
Then we drove to Grammy and Pops' house for dinner:
All snuggled on the couch watching Tarzan 2:
