Rainy Days

These days have been such a whirlwind- I don't even remember this morning. Perhaps these pics will jog my memory...

I'm not sure what Benny was doing or saying below- but I find him irresistible in that tie dyed shirt so I'm fairly certain that has something to do with it.

Not sure if I've written this before, but he calls his "night light" his "nightmare," although he has only reported 2 nightmares: one was awhile ago and it was that he had bugs in his crib and another was recently and it involved a monster called the OSTY- and it entered our house and like a true ninja, i kicked him out of the house. Jim and I love hearing him talk about the Osty. A true villain.
Below is a simple day in the life. I want to say this was last Tuesday, a day we just sort of hibernate inside w the TV off, which leads to extremely creative expression. Benny is in general the worst at entertaining himself. He regularly requests either Blaze or Lion Guard or Caullou and if I say no, he will happily follow me or sit next to me and chat about sports, superheroes, whatever is happening around us- but he usually chooses very boy-ish topics.
Maybe it's bc he has so much of THIS in his life!! If he wants to play w his sisters, he is playing dress up!!

I was reading my book on Ben's chair and hill walked in looking so old. I couldn't handle it.
I want to say this is Thurs AM? Notice Louie on the bed and hilly coloring on the floor of her room wearing a winter hat.
Monday Benny and I hit up the little zoo specifically to see the tiger. Guess whose cage they were working on and guess who was locked away for the week? Damn.

Benny tried to be all optimistic and say "but I like goats!" Yes, son, the silver lining!!!! A man of my own heart.

Leaving Monday night yoga. P was with us and is so sweet to not only Jack but Hilly and Ben. She is sweet and a rule follower and funny and happy.
She ran back to help Benny get safely across the street.
Jack drew this pic in school. I did a major double take bc at first I thought it was a funeral. So happy it was just a map of the classroom.
Tuesday we met up w our friends at the park for Tiffany's 40th birthday. That's what you know you live a glam life.
Then we practiced eating Mexican food at our fave Mexican restaurant.
The next morning- loving on my hamster in last night's make up.
Thursday- swimming day. Benny playing w toys by side of pool.
Sister before she acquiesced and put on her swim suit. Very emotional creature, that one.
Friday, Ben and I had lunch together at the HAC after my workout. It was sooooo good on my end.
He passed out cold that afternoon. Lisa was kind enough to pick up Jack from school.
That night- back at the HAC while the girls took dance.
Sat AM- parental observation at KMC. Jack improved so much this year. Her confidence, strength, ability. Sooo proud.
Same for this nugget Hill. Gym together on Sat morning has been a great bonding activity for these ladies.
Sat afternoon was Preston's birthday party at a local park.
Sat night the girls saw Em as the student director in Aladdin at her school.  Jack wore her Jasmine costume from Em and Miss Amy and was Sooooo excited. She wanted her hair as jasmine-like as possible.
Soooo excited.
Jim ended up taking the girls because I had Tiffany's 40th birthday dinner but he gave me a play by play. Em and the girls below.
Meeting Jasmine. Our neighbors are sooo good to us. The girls loved it and have been talking about it ever since.
Benny stayed w his fave babysitter from the HAC, Miss Nada. Below this is him Sun AM reading his superhero look and find.
Sunday afternoon Benny and me and Hannie napped to Inside Out. The girls woke me up every 5 minutes to braid some Barbie's hair "like Jasmine." Just living the dream, people. Living the dream.
Hilly in an outfit to die for.
The girls after Sunday afternoon baths eating cantaloupe. I love how at least one full day on the weekend they just play all day. They actually play together all the time. Exactly what I want for them.  If I didn't have a sister- then you will be around yours so much you will lose your mind with love!!
Jack and I went ice skating for about 30 minutes that evening. She kept asking me "are you sure you know how to do this?" Dude, I was basically an Olympian.

Me and my man. He missed me. Jack and I also secretly got Rita's together. And she eats like a bird so I always get all of mine and the rest of hers!
Benny, waiting for me to come and read him a book at bedtime.
The books Jack selected at book fair w her $9.
Benny gazing at kids playing dodgeball.
The girls waiting to watch Will take karate.
Benny called Louie a "beagle with cream cheese" today. And I noticed how much she loves these polartech fleece sheets. Me too, Lou.
