The girls and I then met up with Ben and Jim at the Blue Rocks game. Basically for lunch and 2 minutes of bounce house. It was in the 90s and our seats were even too hot to sit in. But there was a huge part of me that just wanted to grab a beer and watch the game. Alas, mom life.
Then I took the kids to the birthday party of a set of twins in Jack's class- Liam and Kate. All my kids wanted to go. There was a face painter and a magician and this family has 4 kids so generally- a very laid back and kid friendly house. My favorite kind!

Afterwards, Sarah stayed for about 20 minutes until her mom came to pick her up so we did some bike riding in the driveway.

The next day- Monday- gma came up and we took the dogs for a walk, including Coco.
Coco at first barked like crazy at Hannie and Lou but we saddled them all up for a walk and she very quickly became part of the pack. It was sooooooooo cute watching her prance all around the neighborhood w her new pals. The girls fought over who got to walk Coco, of course. Then Hill tried to make a trade- Louie for Coco. I'm all for that trade, by the way.Gma slept over and it was her turn to sleep in Hilly's room. So much for her having her own room! She has to divide her time between sharing the queen with Jack and the bottom bunk of Hilly's room. Haha
The next day we ate at Panera, hit up TJ Maxx and went to the movies- our annual tradition to celebrate birthdays. Last year for Ben it was Finding Dory. This year it was Captain Underpants. Ben fell asleep during it which he was really mad about but the rest of us loved it. Then we got Rita's and gma stayed w the kids for an hour so I could run random errands- Staples, post office, hand in paperwork for bible school.
We were so depressed when grandma left. I had to take a picture of the chaos of my house though- cheese stick wrappers everywhere. Yogurt wrappers. My kids are SO BAD at throwing away their trash. I mean, occasionally they do it, but usually they just do not.
This was when Gma was still here. Jack performed ukulele songs, a capella versions of Taylor Swift, dances and gymnastics routines. Hilly took these pictures. Ben tried to participate.
Wednesday they ALL had swimming lessons. I was nervous about jack because I wasn't sure of her ability to swim official laps. She jumped right in and started her freestyle and backstroke.
Here she is perfecting her dive. I was worried I misrepresented her abilities to Miss Alicia but I remembered she took swim lessons at the HAC for like a full year during kindergarten and learned all sorts of random stuff.
Ben put himself to bed that night. I can't remember what we did after swimming. I think bikes. I really want them all to be riding without training wheels by the end of the summer.
