Some backtracking. Here are pics of Jax and Hilly as we loaded up in our overly packed car for the beach. This is before we got stuck in 5 hours worth of traffic and Hilly started crying so hard she puked up the water she just drank. We stopped for a bit for ice cream at a gas station to try to save what sanity Hilly had left. Worked like a charm, but then Jax started getting upset. Maybe in 5 years we will look upon this and smile somehow. But not yet. :)
We arrived and while everyone else went to the beach, we hit up the boardwalk and sat at a restaurant where we could overlook the boardwalk rides.
Here are our tired beasts. I love the way Jax looks in this picture.
Jax went on the merry-go-round 2x: once w me and once w Jim. I have more pics of this, but the kids are still so grumpy and overtired from their vacation that I couldn't upload them all.
Milestone alert: Hilly started saying "mama" for real. She follows me around the house crawling, saying "Mamamamamama." What did I do to deserve such love??? She's the best. Also, she's standing like crazy and both her top 2 front teeth are in pretty far now. Hilly is the bomb. Tied with Jax, naturally.
