Snakes

For some reason blogger wasn't letting me post.  I googled the problem and it said just to wait it out.  Which was really my only choice.  Now it's working.

Last weekend we wanted to take the girls on a little hike at the peak of poisonous copperhead snake season. So we did.  Ben was SO into it and so was Jack, but Ben wanted to be carried so... not that cool.  Hillary pretty much hates nature, as do I so.  Anyway.  It was a fun little hike.

We attended Hannie's 3rd birthday party.

All these little sister pictured below will be in the same pre-school class next year. As 2nd borns, they are all pretty much insane, so it should be an interesting year.

Jack holding baby Kate.  We all call her Kate the Great.

Benny getting in touch with his feminine side.

Hillary lovingly playing with our dear Macaroni William.  After the party.

Sunday evening we went to Grammy and Pops.  Hilly took this picture below.

Jim put on the Beatles and the kids were super pumped about dancing to it.

Later that night whilst watching World War Z, Hannie observed Macaroni William in his natural element.

Monday morning Jackie started Safety Camp (learns about gun/fire/strangers/bus/police safety).  As we were walking in Hilly kept saying "Jackie, you are my sister." And Jackie kept saying "We do this every year" very proudly.  It melted my heart.

her group is below- basically the same kids from her preschool class. We signed all of them up together, which was a great idea.  The kids have been having a lot of fun this week, despite how boring "Safety Camp" sounds.  Jack did say to me one day "We sat on a bus today and this old lady talked for like 10 minutes.  It was awful!"   I tried not to laugh and explained to her that important information doesn't always come in interesting packages.

We stopped by Emily's house while the big kids were at safety camp.  We were only there for a few minutes but this image of the girls playing with the dollhouse struck me as beautiful.

And just because I like to document this little guy from time to time.

I took the pic below because I found it funny that for breakfast I handed her an entire bag of Cheerios.  Parenting fail or parenting win?  Or just plain old efficient?

Monday afternoon we visited my friends Mer and Nini.

It was such a gorgeous afternoon and Mer's backyard is like an Eden.

We missed the first yoga class of the summer because we stayed at Mer's too long, but Ben and Hill spent a fair amount of time playing yoga that evening.

Below- on Tuesday we went to pick up Jack from camp and Hill kept saying "I brought my teddy bear."  I didn't pay much attention, assuming it was a stuffed animal, and then I looked back and saw that she was holding the hamster.....

So a hamster accompanied us to pick up Jack.  WTF

Below, Tues afternoon we met our friends at the pool.  Ate dinner there and then hit up the new session of gymnastics which is a summertime tradition.

Wednesday morning I walked in on the girls discussing what birthday cakes they wanted for their next birthday.  It was really cute.  Made me wish I had a sister. Glad I have good friends and brothers to fill that void.
