Jax had her LG show yesterday- and it was intense. They first announced each child to music. Jackie is the youngest in the class, which is really cute. Jackie was not into it- she didn't cry or refuse to participate or anything, but she was really shy. She told me in the car that she only wanted me and her teachers there- "not the other parents." She totally warmed up by the end and was showing off her balance beam skills, etc w the best of them. I guess my point is that it's clear she would prefer to not be the center of attention, but this preference didn't prevent her from participating, which was very brave of her!! Each week all the parents watch from behind a window (she can see them), but this time we were in chairs and stuff cheering inside the gym. She was upset with herself for not doing her own front roll (which she can do in her sleep), but this was the first activity after they were announced so she hadn't quite warmed up yet. Jackie had no clue yesterday would be anything other than an ordinary gym class so....
At the end they got medals and Jack was in heaven. She hasn't taken off her medal since (except to sleep). She loves it.
Oh and who cheered super loud for my girl Jackie? Hilly! She would yell "Jackie! Yay!!!!"
We played w stickers and paints at home before class, and afterwards we watched Mickey and napped. Also, last night we finished painting Ben's room- this is huge! The color is darker than I envisioned, so I am going to increase the amount of white in his decor.
Oh, and then we met up w Jack's BFF P at the Charcoal Pit for dinner, which was fun and chaotic.
I could not be more proud of my Jackie!!
