Post 2: Monday Play Date

We had a play date at Jackie's friend Kyle's house, which was super fun. Hilly was def more into the water fun than Jax, which isn't surprising. Jackie isn't a huge fan of being messy, dirty or rough. Hilly is game for all 3. Jackie shied away from the sprinkler. Hillers and a 6 year old boy named Owen never left it. I love their different personalities. P wasn't there (she is sick), so Jackie took a few hours to warm up and was more clingy than usual. Eventually she warmed up, though, and let her guard down. Hilly ran away a few times. I cannot WAIT for her running away phase to pass. It sucks because she is rarely running to a safe location- it is through random open doors, into the street, away from me (because it quickly becomes a game), over to the stairs, into a crowd. Another little girl was there who will be 3 in July. She was just like Hilly- and her mom said that from 2 to 3, she has gotten a lot better about not running away. There is hope!
