St Ann's had a donuts with dads for Father's Day and Jim and Jack totes made it to the school's Instagram. Heck yeah.
Last Sunday Tiff had to work so I asked if P and Hannie could come to play for a few hours. They scored some time w Em and her best friend who was visiting. The older girls set up a bed tent for the little girls which became Hilly's bed tent.
This pic below cracks me up. Look at the 3 little sets of legs under the tent. They were tired so they were falling and fighting as they attempted to carry this tent across the yard.
Then there are these 2 below w their maxi skirts. Haha
On Monday Jack had a birthday party at the pizza place (her classmate's fam is from Italy and owns it). It was chaos.
Magic show below.
Face painting.
Ev and Jack sharing a seat.
This is a picture below of Jack threatening to break an end table over Hill's head. This was after Hill had done the same. Just keeping it real.
Jack had early dismissal on Wed. The littles and I hit up playground nearby but then a storm started. So we went to Will and Drew's house for an impromptu play date.
That night..... First ice skating lesson. Jack actually came down w a fever that afternoon and begged me to let her still go. A fever is technically 100.4 I read, so since hers was 100.2 I thought.... Ok? Anyway, we hit up Target, she picked out the ugliest bike helmet known to man and then we met up w P for dinner before the big lesson.
See that glass of wine? Yeah. I earned that. The kids were awful.
But the lesson was great! P and Jack were awesome on the ice. Since Jack's birthday party circuit is replete w ice skating parties, this is very useful. Also, Aunt Katie took lessons at this rink and Jim used to come here in junior high like a cool kid. Full circle, man. Full circle.
Ahh.... Last day of school. Picked her own outfit.
Got to see Em on HER last day of 7th grade.
It was a 2 hour day, including an assembly where we watched her receive a certificate and sing 2 songs and recite a poem about prayer. They announced she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She would be a WONDERFUL teacher.
Her buddy Lily. I will always like Lily BC Lily was a baby w Jack at the daycare. She always seemed so well adjusted and chill and gave me hope in the fog of depression and anxiety I was in as I picked up baby Jackie every day. And Lily remains well adjusted and chill. Not to be a helicopter parent (which I admit I 100% am), but I always try to promote her friendship w Lily (along w Evelyn, Payton and a few other key players). I digress.
Gymnastic Thursday. Jack got to see what we are up to while she's at school.
We hit up Ollie's while waiting the hour in between Hilly's lesson and Ben's lesson.
That night Jack fell asleep gazing at the labeled thumbprints of her kindergarten class. She said she misses her class so much but it happy to spend more time with me. She's been off school for 2 days and it sure is nice to have her back. Even though I've had to lay down the law like 5 times.
Benny reads a book in bed every night.
I used a flash and he caught me.
Friday we celebrated the first day of summer by an extended play date at P's. The girls were whining so I made them each give me 10 push ups. They didn't whine for the rest of the day.
Lunch. Tiff's cat was on table and my kids thought it was SO COOL to eat while watching a cat sleep. Better than the zoo.
The little guy is Dean. Anne was also watching him so we were helping out. He was a really nice kid. He made me want another son.
He was also a trooper. There was a major dance party happening and Hilly told Dean he was the daddy and she was the mommy. He said "we can go on a date night then!" She said "we are watching our daughter Payton at her dance recital." And every time he would look away, she would tell him to keep watching Payton. Poor guy. He eventually settled in to the role of DJ.
The kids were super tired by the end of the day, which is always the goal.
These 2....
