Okay so onto this week...

Mondays are our super busy days; here are the kids coloring before Jack's ukelele lesson.
After her lesson she came out laughing so hard she couldn't speak.

Ben constructed his preschool w manga tiles. I was so proud.
Walking into dance and tumbling, respectively.
Unlikely friends.
Benny sleeping w a sheet over his head. He said to jim through tears earlier "I will only sleep w a sheet over my head!" This man is true to his word.
Hill created a special harness for her dog.
Soccer practice for Hill. She loves it but again, not sure she gives a crap about soccer.

But as for the hot pink socks?? Oh yes.
Jack and Hannie and P chillin.
Morning bath.
Hill sunk in and said "Mom.... You have to try this..."

Ballet and tap for H.
Pop pop and Grandma came down for the day on Thurs. it was just such a good day. Gma couldn't wait to walk to pick Jack up from school so after lunch and Grotto's, they hung out with Ben while I took Hill to dance and then we all walked over.
You should've seen Jack run to them. My heart almost exploded. I took Jack and Payton to yoga while the little kids hit up the playground and we met them back there.

Then we all went for ice cram nearby.

Here Benny said to Pop pop "I don't have hair in my nose."
So many adults- MOST adults- just don't get kids- they love kids when kids pay attention to them. But this is the truth: if you don't put in the face time, the kids will not feel comfortable with you or open up to you. Face time face time face time. It is invaluable to children.  I vividly remember my Gran's best friend Aunt Elsie. She would always take time to be silly for a little bit with me- one particular time we made elephant ears out of a paper plate together. Would she rather have been chatting w adults? Most definitely. But she took 15 minutes to laugh with me and I loved her so much for it. When she died nobody even told me bc they probably thought I wouldn't care. Of course I cared! She made elephant ears with me and we shared some really good laughs. She will always have a place in my heart. I try to remember this as I meet children throughout my days. Just getting on their level for 5 minutes to chit chat or be silly. And I've gotten to know so many of my kids' friends, my nephews and nieces- and we've had so many good laughs. Anyway, enough of my life experience. It just brought so much joy to see my kids feel so relaxed and loved. They are afterall my raison d'etre.  I love you Jackie, Hilly and Ben!!!
