Committee

I was totally pressured into joining the parents' committee at the nursery school, which resulted in the girls attending the meeting with me.  Hey, we are a package deal- what can I say?  It was one of those times I was glad my girls are so close in age because while other kids hung onto their parents, Jax & Hillers had each other- and dove right into the toys together.  Win.

Below we have a photo of my girls diving into the toybox in Hilly's room.  I have an awesome framed pic to hang above that box and this picture is inspiring me to get moving on Hilly's room.  I'm still catching up for lost time after she was born 3 weeks early.  3 weeks and 9 minutes.

What is also special about the photo below is that yesterday (when this was taken) Hilly turned 13 months!  Her onesie is unsnapped because I was waiting for a call from the doctor about a suspicious looking rash on her bum and wanted easy access for examination when he called back.
Below is Jax at the church this morning.  The skirt?  From Aunt K and Uncle C to HILLY for Hilly's bday.  The boots?  Also purchased for Hilly.  Jax loves boots, what can I say?  She did NOT want to wear the skirt, though.  But guess what?  I wanted her to wear it, and I gave her no choice.  Liberal parenting at its finest.

Jax has been saying the funniest things lately, so I wrote them down.

  • During Hilly's birthday party, I gave her a bath (post-cake), so there was some cake in the tub that night at bath time.  Jax freaked- she hates dirt, etc.. The next bath time she said to me excitedly, "No cake in the water!"
  • This week she was spinning around her room, stopped and then grabbed onto her crib and said, "It's moving!"  I said, "What is moving?"  She responded, "My room!!"
  • Last night in the bath she was pretending to be Ms. Alicia teaching Barbie to swim and said in a serious tone, "Noo... we don't do that."  and "Be careful up there!" (on the ledge of the tub)
  • To Hilly and her baby dolls, "Be gentle!"  (obviously from us telling Hilly that every day.  Hilly our abusive toddler)
  • Lou was jumping up on Hilly's high chair and I pushed her down.  Jackie said, "NO! Don't do that.  Don't push Louie!" I explained to her that I was being gentle when I was pushing.  At the next meal when Lou was begging at Hilly's high chair, she said, "I will get Louie down." She then stood directly behind Louie and started to pull her tail at the base.  Gross!
  • After Gma D-ster left last Sunday, Jackie kept walking over to Hilly, giving her a kiss on the forehead and saying, "Hi sweetheart!"
