For the first time since Brother B was born, we headed back to the DCM. Hilly seemed so much older- not just because Ben is so little, but because she DID NOT RUN AWAY. If she did wander, all I had to do was get her attention and wave her back. I didn't know whether to cry bc Hilly is growing up, or bust out a bottle of champagne and celebrate that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I still have to chase her at times and keep a close eye on her, but it's improving. WOOHOO!
Anyway, we met up w our friends at the museum and P and Jax were in their own world together, as usual. Jax picked out her own outfit. :) She's big on having her outfit match. Sometimes it works (like below). Other times it will be the brightest reddest shirt ever matched with the brightest reddest shorts ever. Cringe.
Oh, also this week, Gma D-ster came up and we took all 3 kids out to lunch for the first time. It was a total success! Ben just slept in his seat and the girls ate their mac and cheese and colored. Later that night, Jim and I went to dinner and Gma hung out w the girls. Jackie told me the next morning that they were playing "follow the leader" and Jackie was wearing her tap shoes and said "I thinks we should buy Grandma tap shoes for her birthday." Mom, do you want black or tan tap shoes? Heh. She also said Grandma kept going the wrong way during the game. Haha
We also bought the girls a nightlight that projects a Finding Nemo scene onto the ceiling. All night long before she fell asleep, Hilly would shout, "NEEEEMMOOOO!!!" She is obsessed. Total success.
Also, we went to dinner at Grammy and Pops' house and en route Jackie said to Jim "I love your mommy" (meaning Grammy), which I thought was cute. Then she was asking all about Pops' daddy and asked where he was, etc...
My friend stopped by to drop off a quiche (how cliche does that sound) last night and Jax took that opportunity to swipe the blue nail polish off the shelf and paint her own nails. See picture below for results.... She got it on the trunk we use as a coffee table and when I was trying to scrape it off, Jax said, "Now, Mommy- DON'T WORRY (in a very reassuring tone). It's going to be OKAY. It's just polish."
