1. This morning we went to Grammy's and walked to a playground (Jack walked the whole way! We really do have our best conversations on walks when she is actually walking and not in a wagon or stroller). Then we went back to Grammy's for lunch and Pops came home from school (Jack asked me where his school is and what his teacher's name is). The girls had a great time. Grammy had cookie cutters that Hill had a great time with.
2. At the park Grammy pointed out that Jax was eyeing up another little girl's Sofia the First (a Disney princess) sneakers. Later Jack told me TWO girls had them at the park. Sorry, Jack. I cannot let you wear Sofia sneaks when there are adorable New Balance and Sauconys out there. Also on walk home- Jack pointed out a runner's braid. Homegirl is a girlygirl. Grandma D-ster- you called it.
2. We saw her old classmate, S, at playground. He was the classroom bully but it came out that he was excluded from the boys at school so loved to try to play w Jax and P- but his definition of playing is really physical and also apparently his parents never disciplined him, blah blah- It was a complicated story that resulted in drama at the school. Anyway. He was with his new class. Jackie told me that when she was on the slide alone, he walked up to her and said nothing and didnt even look at her but touched her hand. Obviously Jack didn't say anything either bc she is shy. She said to me "Scottie walked up to me and touched my hand. He remembered me." She was really happy and despite the drama that went down and that I am happy that Jack currently isn't having to deal w this particular kid, this moment between them really touched my heart. I feel like he has a sensitive soul.
3. We then went to my friend Mer's and she has a 7 year old and a 1 year old. The older kid was at school but Jack loooved the 1 year old. She said "He is so cute I can't believe it!" Hilly hadn't had a nap so she was apt to get mad at him and pull the "mine!" But when we were outside, Jack and Hill were holding hands as they always do outside and Hill was being difficult and pulled away from Jack. My sweet Jackie PANiCS (as u can see below). In fact, I made a comment about Hill running into the street and Jackie just ran over to her and grabbed her hand. And last night at gym, Jack came out of the gym and Hill screamed "Jackie!!!!" and grabbed her hand and rubbed her belly. Their relationship is really beautiful. I don't have a sister, so it's nice to witness this really cool relationship. I hope they are best friends forever.
Okay I am done being a sap. Jack has school tomorrow and I need to finish my glass of wine.
