Forewarning: major Ben centered post. Fear not, my girls are not even a little neglected. Since he sleeps 22 hours out of the day, Jim and I spend every moment reading with Hilly, coloring. W Jax, taking them to park, etc... I haven't had my phone w me thru the chaos so I don't have a ton of pics of them. Also, we haven't done much.
Just want to keep on top of stuff- just occurred to me he has no baby book. Does this thing count?
Anyway, he was 7 lbs 3-4 oz at hospital discharge on Mon. Today he was 7 lbs 6 oz at the doc. So his weight is good. Until he hits 7 lbs 9 oz (birth weight), he will have weight checks every few days at the ped. The doc just said keep Hilly and her cold away from Ben- wash hands, etc... Also he has a little bump on his left ear- in a few babies, this can indicate a kidney issue or a hearing issue- but he pees nicely (that's my boy!) and also passed his hearing test w flying colors. So its just something he will get removed in a few months. Before the doctor saw him I went nuts researching renal issues, etc... I was acting like a crazy hypochondriac up all night in the hospital. Finally the nurse gave me an ambien and solved *that* problem. Although I must say I didn't like the Ambien- it gave me nightmares. So I woke up anyway and watched TV. I digress.
We went to the park and for a walk today with Ben and it was super hot.
We did stop by a 4th of July picnic of Jackie's friends from Aldersgate, including P and her little sister- my buddy H. We arrived and I realized Hilly's nose was too runny to be out in public so I feel like a jerk now, but it was too late for us to leave. Ugh. Anyway, there were about a million moments I wish I photographed- the girls on a mini trampoline together, playing in sprinkler, water table, etc... But My hands were full feeding Ben at the time and my phone was inside.
On way in, I asked Jackie and Hill to hold hands to the door. They totally did and it was really cute.
Also, Jackie said to me yesterday, "What does truth mean?" I said "It describes what really happened." She said "When you say 'Tell me the truth.' what do you mean?"
Hilly also has been randomly apologizing for everything "I sorry!" when I change her diaper, when someone else does something wrong, etc.. She also loves "baby" and constantly tried to tickle him. Yesterday at the picnic thing, Hilly ate a ton of popcorn. It was the first time she had any. And she got mad at P and said "Payton!!" it was really cute.
Jim was holding Ben this morning and said "He is awake!" and before I could get the words out of my mouth, Jackie said "bring him over to us!!!!!" We are all fighting for face time with this little guy. Haha
