We are unshowered and grubby, but Hillers and I are waiting for Jim and Jack to climb the Currituck Lighthouse. Hilly woke up in a loud mood at 6am so after Jax fell down a small flight of [carpeted] stairs, we high-tailed it out of the house filled w sleeping people to a create-your-own-donut shop and then to the lighthouse/nature reserve/historic town. We drove by where the wild horses are but didn't park and get out of car. Tomorrow at 630am, we probably will! Anyway, Jax really really really wanted to climb this lighthouse so they are up there now. I can't wait to hear how she felt about it.
Hilly still hates the sand but tolerates hours at the beach. Jax loves the sand but said "the ocean is not my friend." Considering people drown in there and it's filled with enormous sharp-toothed fish... Good call.
