Birthday Party

My friend's son turned 2, so we rounded the troops to attend what was sort of the first legit big-ish kid's birthday party my girls have been too. When everyone was singing "Happy Birthday," I looked over and saw Jackie happily singing right along. She loves group singing- must be the Protestant in her blood. Haha

There was also a face painter/balloon lady- again, Jackie was so brave and excited to have her face painted. When I called it make-up, she was SO excited and said "This is make-up?!?!!!!" A girl after my own heart. :)

Towards the end of the relatively short party, the girls joined the boys in the hall playing balloons. Hilly, of course, joined first and Jackie followed. They had a ball and after the party at home both sat there quietly looking through their favor boxes.

The girls finally met Nini's parents, who had awesome little gifts for them. These girls get mad gifts. It is insane. I try not to bring new stuff into our house except on holidays, but people are so sweet to them. Who am I to be grinch?

Can't recall if I noted Jackie's new kicks in previous post, but she is super excited. They are slightly too big, but her old ones are slightly too small. Her feet grow soooo slowly.

Also pictured below is an outfit she tries to wear in public. Sponge Bob hand-me-down PJ pants (from cousin Mary), a shirt that has been passed down to Hilly and her purple sneaks. She finally agreed to change out the pants for stylish purple sweats from Aunt B. Close call... Bc I was totally going to let her rock her inner hipster.

Oh also she insisted on sitting on potty for hours and hours yesterday. She asked to watch a Caillou ep where Caillou has "chicken hox." How cute is that???

Today we also stopped by to say hi to Grammy and Pops and the girls received a stuffed bear and stuffed puppy for Valentine's Day. Hilly screamed happily when she saw them in the driveway. Stuffed animals are huge w the girls lately, so this is right up their alley. Hilly sleeps w them and wakes up briefly, hugs the stuffed animal and then collapses on it, falling back asleep.

They are now watching Toy Story 2- their favorite movie. They both stop whatever they are doing to sing/watch the song parts "When Somebody Loved Me." Jack always walks around house singing "You've got a friend in Me."

Jim is making me a venison burger for dinner. He is seriously a chef. I am a lucky girl.
