Long story short-
I keep thinking its Thursday. Every day this week. Jackie's valentines are due tomorrow so once the girls are in bed, I'm running to Walgreen's. I do not like V Day and it has nothing to do w being single/married/etc... It just feels very contrived to me. And it's in the middle of the 2nd worst month of the year, so often going to eat involves braving ice and snow only to arrive to a pre-planned V Day tasting menu and a million other cheeseball couples. Maybe if the holiday were in July. Or involved a trip to the islands..... I digress. And am bitter about having to deal w those cheap valentines.
So Tues was swimming and today was gymnastics- both super cute. Last night I went to dinner w some mom friends 1 min from home. Jim called to tell me Jax was puking. Got home, Jax was worried she would "burp" again. She didn't. Woohoo!
She found a baby doll in our beach bag and said "remember at the beach when Nick broke my doll?" Nick is her cousin and this was August. Her memory is amazeballs. Disclaimer: the doll was cheap and easily fixed.
She went into gym a bit grump and exited hugging me and saying "I am happy now."
Oh, on Tues Jax ran up to her teacher and said "I got a big girl bed." Her teacher said "Wow, Jackie! That's so cool! High five! Go tell Miss Ann (asst teacher)" She was soo happy.
Also we gave up the paci! We lost them all and that was it. Told her she was a big girl, discussed all babies that use them (we had just seen Nini's baby and Mer's baby- both w dee-dees). She said "I don't know how to sleep without one!" She did, though. Took a bit longer for her to fall asleep, but she did it. I think it was harder for me than her bc, truth be told, I just do not mind a paci. I've heard countless adults comment when kids constantly have pacis (ahem, mom, to name one) but I don't care- they make the child happy. They look cute. What's it to ya? Anyway, it's gone. The next day Jim hugged her and said "Are you all grown up??" and she said "Not yet!!"
