Paint & Bread

Our only goal today was to hit up Jax's new gymnastics class time at 1:00. What a huge difference! No older kids, a class of only about 8, empty waiting room in early afternoon as opposed to at dinnertime. So awesome. Jax was also less overwhelmed bc it was such a small group. At the end they sat in a little circle and did a little cheer. I wanted to yell "Jackie is here for exercise and to build muscle and learn healthy lifetime habits, not to become a cheerleader!" but, ya know. I didn't. And she had fun. So whatevs.

We also seized the day by painting/coloring. Similar to the way that I was as a child, Jackie can sit and sketch for hours. But paints and other mediums don't really do it for her in quite the same way. At one point today she disappeared and I found her upstairs in her bed quietly sketching on her magna doodle. So I hopped in her bed with her to watch and Hilly followed close behind. Sorry Jax! I am a personal-space-invader. And so is Hilly. And you probably are too. Runs in the fam. :)

Lastly, Jax made bread tonight. She told me when the yeast started foaming. She mixed, she poured, she checked on it rising and cooking. Jim got home and she said "Daddy! The bread is going for a ride!!!"

Hillers has been suffering from night terrors. Google it if you are curious, although the descriptions found online don't really do justice for what it is like to hear your 18 month old wake up screaming on the top of her lungs. Putting on Sesame or Caillou for 10 minutes has worked for us so far.
